The 4th & Freedom

Hello Blog Friends.  I hope July is starting off nicely for you. 
Many of you are probably gearing up for July 4th.  I've seen many posts about food, and activities for the holiday.  Today I even saw patriotic themed make up ideas on Pinterest.
 While I do appreciate the theme of the holiday, it feels a little bittersweet to me this year. 

Ronald Reagan said  "If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on Earth. And this idea that government is beholden to the people, that it has no other source of power except to sovereign people, is still the newest and most unique idea in all the long history of man's relation to man. This is the issue of this election. Whether we believe in our capacity for self-government or whether we abandon the American revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far-distant capital can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves."


 Our constitutional rights are so precious friends.  They are the basis for everything our ancestors fought for when they traveled here.

So in spite of the fire-works, lake time, and cook outs.  Please remember what our ancestors fought for.
Treasure your freedom, and remember that it cannot be taken away from us, unless we allow it to be.
